Phuket VIP Mercury Studio: A Cosmic Aesthetic in Office Design

Songhuan Wu's Award-Winning Interior Space Design Inspired by Astronomy

Songhuan Wu's design is a unique exploration of sky aesthetics in the field of architecture and decoration. Located in Phuket Island, the office space maintains a high level of freedom and depth, meeting the daily work demands of staff while also building a close relationship with the surrounding environment. The project uses a large number of circular elements and arcs, using the base deconstruction mapping of the point line surface to shape the temperament of the space.

The design is not subject to a single aesthetic or project type but is dedicated to creative, innovative, and intelligent work. It seeks a balance of rationality and touch, decoration, and restraint lines. The project is managed using the latest BIM standards for three-dimensional data.

The 570 square meter space uses main materials such as terrazzo art paint, aluminum plate, copper stainless steel, wood veneer, oak floor, and carpet. The design features abstract elements with the brand planet and geometric sphere as the thinking of the spread of extension, achieving the overall shape and style of hard outfit outline label.

The project was launched in June 2019 and is currently under construction. It is expected to be completed in December 2019. Songhuan Wu has been working hard to integrate indoor space design with cross-border thinking, constantly exploring the temperament combination of culture and space in different countries, and creating new elements and culture.

The design faced challenges such as planning on abandoned roads that resulted in the main building being confined to a rectangular space with regular rules. The entire moving line was too monotonous, and the integration with the surrounding shrubs and sea environment had to be considered without destroying the original natural environment. Despite these challenges, the design was successful in creating a visual integration of visual extensibility and brand story with the planet as the main creative element.

The Phuket VIP Mercury Studio is a testament to Songhuan Wu's innovative approach to design, integrating the aesthetics of the cosmos into a functional office space. The design has been recognized with the prestigious Platinum A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, a testament to its exceptional and highly innovative design that contributes to societal wellbeing and advances the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology.
